Lake Corpus Christi State Park

Today we moved to Corpus Christi Lake State Park. It is a beautiful park and our spot is right close to the lake so we have a great view. Lots of wildlife here. We saw an armadillo, many small deer and a family of javelinas(the wild pigs in the picture). The javelinas came within several yards of our motorhome and as you can see they let us get near enough for a picture. We drove into Mathis today to do some shopping and look around. Groceries are very cheap here, about half the price of home. Many of the houses are on blocks or stilts due to the severe floods that come after the heavy rains. Anna and I went for a walk around the park and while kneeling down to take a picture I got bitten by the same kind of tiny ants that attacked Anna a couple nights ago. They have a very ferocious bite for something so small. We were planning to go canoeing tomorrow but the state park ranger informed us that they only rent them out in the summer. No worries, we will find something adventurous to do.
