Hot Water

We woke up this morning to find the hot water tank dripping worse than ever.  However, the replacement tank had come in and the guys were ready to roll yet once again.  Of course, what should be a simple operation never is.  The insulating material around the tank had swollen making it difficult to pull out the old tank.  After much pulling and kicking it was finally out.

In no time at all the new tank was placed.  I had to run to the hardware store with Swan and we had to get a new door for the hot water tank.  Actually it was a new door with the frame the door attaches to.  From there the men hooked up the propane, tested for leaks and set about doing the wiring.

The greatest thing is that now all I have to do is push the rocker switch and the hot water will ignite.  No more going outside in our pajamas, running around the motor home and lighting the hot water.   How cool is that!

Poor George and Swan worked from about 9:30 this morning until almost 7 pm.  Neighbour Bob came over and helped with the wiring.  He was an airplane electrician in his former life.  I felt sorry for the men.  Like me, they are not spring chickens and have problems with their knees and backs and yet they crawled into the narrow spaces of the motor home and made sure everything was running as it should.

I am extremely fortunate to be surrounded by such good people.  Thank you to all who helped.  I appreciate it more than I can express.
